Before the teaching sessions of Web 2.0 I wasn't so excited, but when my colleagues start their teaching sessions, I really liked Web 2.0 application very much because I didn't know all the application that they teach us and I learned many things that helps me in the college and I wish if they teach us this subject before because it is really helpful.
In addition, these are the application that I learned about it Blogs, Google Chrome, Google site, Google Docs, Prezi, Google drive & Dropbox, Google calendar, Picasa, Google+, Diigo and google map. I will rank them as their benefits and how I use them.
Blogger
My friend and I teach our colleagues about Blogger, before the teaching sessions I always hear about blogs, but I didn't know how to use it. I learned hard about blogs to teach our colleagues how to create blogs with cool things. Blogger: is a great site that let me publish my dairy, what I’m interested in, what I like. As simple, it is your site you can publish whatever you want no one will say it's wrong.
In addition, I learned how to post and the post can include texts, pictures, videos, links, and bullets. I learned how to add pages in my blog, how to change the theme of the blog, background, the size of the entire blog and the sidebar, how to change the layout of the blogs, how to change the font, text color. Also, I learned how to add gadgets to my blog.
Diigo
Diigo is a great social bookmarking. I learned in Diigo, how
to save website links, write notes on the web, highlights the important information,
create a list for each subject and I learned how to share these links to my group.
Diigo helps me a lot in my college projects, it helps me a lot in group
projects, we share links of the information easily instead of copying each link
and share it through the email, now just in one click I can share the links
easily.
Google maps
Google map: helps me a lot in finding location and I use
it as a navigation on my phone. I learned in Google map how to create your own map,
to add photos of location you like, to see the rate of the place that you want
to visit, to read people comment about this place.
Prezi helps me to create unique and attractive presentation
online rather than boring presentations that we used to create before. I used Prezi
to create many presentations for many subjects because I think that Prezi
attract the audiences more than usual
presentations. I learned how to create plank Prezi and organize it the way I like, how to insert
videos and pictures, how to change the theme.
Google Chrome
Before the teaching session I was using internet explore, it is slow and always it close by itself and the pages that I opened disappear. After the teaching session, I learned a lot about Google chrome and now I use it as my main browser because it is faster and save websites directly. In addition, I learned that it is not only web browsers, I can install applications on it such as; financial calculator, I can install extensions such as; blocking advertisement on the web. Also, I think it is very helpful because I can download an offline application that I can use them without the internet.
Google Drive &
DropBox: these two applications help me to share files, documents, videos,
picture easily without needing hard memory, it is all online. I use it to send
the large documents to my friends and teachers because the email has a limited size
of the document.
Google site is an online website that lets you create pages
on it. In google site I learned how to create pages, announcements, list, how
to format pages, how to add a sidebar. It is really helpful I use it in different
projects such as; web 2.0 practical project and
photo essay project. For Web 2.0, I created different pages for each
application and I insert text, video and picture on each page. Moreover, google
site will help me in advertising my future business.
Google calendar is a
great tool to keep track of life's important events all in one place. It helps
me a lot in recording all tasks, projects, exams to know what to do in each day
and to finish it before the due date. In addition, I use it also in my daily
life like, recording appointments that I have and I learned how to add your friends
calendar, so I can know if my friend free or busy in any day. Furthermore, I learned
how to add a different calendar such as, Muslims holiday calendar to know the dates
of holidays.
Google Docs is like a Microsoft
Office but the different things it is online. I use google site in creating a
word document, presentation, survey, excel sheet and share it to my group
member and teacher easily. What I liked about google docs that they can update
the document and write their parts and I can see their parts without refreshing
the page and they can write comments on the document.
Picasa
Picasa helps me a lot in
organizing my image and view my image in the best way. In addition, I learned and
I use it in editing photos, creating collage and creating movie maker.
Google Plus
Google plus is a social
networking , I use it to share text, photo, video, event to my friends. In
addition, I learned how to start a hangout with google plus, it makes connecting
with my colleague more easier to do our project in the home.
